Winter Storm Update as of 1/22/26, 12:00 PM EST

Winter Storm Fern is a large, long-duration winter storm that will impact travel over the next week. Widespread heavy snow, sleet and freezing rain is expected from the Southern Rockies and Plains into the Mid-South, spreading eastward to the Mid-Atlantic and New England this weekend.

Due to the current Winter Storm Fern advisory, the ALG Vacations® contact center is experiencing high call volumes. If your clients are NOT traveling between January 22 and January 26 or your needs are not urgent, please refrain from calling so that bookings impacted by the storm can be serviced efficiently. Instead, email us via click-to-contact.

 

If you are calling about an impact for travel January 22–26, click to call and press 1. If you are traveling before 1/27 and wish to rebook, please research flight alternatives first, before you call or while on hold. Providing options for flights to our contact center will help us rebook to desired flights. The airline waivers are through 1/26 so any change in travel post-1/26 are standard ALGV policy.

Refer to these steps prior to your client's scheduled departure and follow the scenario that best applies.

 

Please note that even if their flight was canceled by the airline, you still need to take action on the reservation; see scenarios #1 and #2 below.

    • With TPP, they may change or cancel with a full travel credit or cash refund less the TPP premium. 
    • Without TPP, penalties may apply.
