We understand the current flight disruptions impacting parts of the Caribbean are creating uncertainty for your clients traveling in the next few days. Below is clear guidance on the current ALG Vacations® policies and options available to help you support impacted customers.
Customers Currently in Destination
If your customer is currently in destination, we do not yet have additional updates until airspace restrictions are lifted. In the meantime:
- Hotels are offering distressed rates for extended stays. Clients should work directly in destination with their hotel for the best rate.
- The most up-to-date flight information is available directly through airline websites and mobile apps.
Cancellation Guidance
ALG Vacations® is following standard reservation processes at this time.
If the flight has been canceled:
- Cancel the reservation in VAX VacationAccess®.
- Submit a Post-Travel Form to request a refund from the airline for the canceled flight, in accordance with DOT guidelines.
Please note:
- If the reservation does not include Travel Protection Plus (TPP), the non-air components are normally non-refundable within three days of departure.
- However, ALG Vacations® is actively requesting penalty waivers from hotel partners. If a waiver is approved, a travel credit for the hotel portion will be issued.
If the flight has not been canceled:
- Please check directly with the airline regarding any applicable waivers or change options.
Changing Dates or Destinations
- Clients who wish to change travel dates or move to a new destination should follow the instructions outlined under “Airline Cancellations and Delays.”
- Existing funds may be applied to the new reservation.
Important Reminders
- Flight schedules may continue to change rapidly. Please encourage clients to monitor airline communications closely.
- Call volumes are currently extremely elevated, and wait times may be longer than normal.
