Hurricane Updates

Hurricane Ernesto no longer poses a threat to land and all watches/warnings have expired.

 

 

 

Bermuda Updates

  • All major roadways are clear.
  • The Bermuda causeway leading to and from the airport is now open.
  • The Bermuda airport will reopen at 1pm local time.
  • Clean up continues throughout the island. The most significant impact from the storm was power outages, downed trees, and a few areas with minor mudslides.
  • As of this morning, 95% of power has been restored.

 

 

Hotel Updates

Hotel inclement weather policies are being updated as we receive them and will be available here.

 

DMC's initial report has indicated no hotel damage.

 

 

Airline Updates

Please consult airline websites for policies.

 

Jet Blue is the only airline with cancelled flights today. Other airlines have delayed morning flights and will operate afternoon/evening flights as scheduled.

 

Passenger Impact for Destination Under Warning/Watch:

8 passengers were in destination during the storm.

Pre-Travel

Please follow these Pre-Travel steps prior to scheduled departure:

 

1) Scenario: Outbound flight was cancelled, and clients want to change dates and/or destination, with or without TPP. Action: Click-to-contact us on VAX and be prepared with flight/date alternatives.

2) Scenario: Outbound flight was cancelled, and clients want to cancel reservation entirely, with or without TPP. Action: Self-service by cancelling reservation in VAX.

3) Scenario: Flight has NOT been cancelled and clients want to rebook dates and/or destination, with or without TPP. Action: Click-to-contact us on VAX and be prepared with flight/date alternatives.

 

Important Note: Even if your client's flight was cancelled by the airline, you still need to take action on the reservation per scenarios #1 and #2 above.

 

Passengers scheduled to travel to affected destinations in coming days: With Travel Protection Plus (TPP), clients may change or cancel with a full travel credit or cash refund less the TPP premium, based on the TPP option purchased. Without TPP, clients are subject to penalties. The airline and individual hotel's reimbursement policy for changes and cancellations may vary as the severe weather event unfolds.
