ALG Vacations^® is aware that some travel advisors are experiencing Visa credit card payment declines on United Vacations bookings. The issue is currently limited to United Vacations and Visa card transactions; other ALG Vacations brands and alternate card types, including Mastercard, Discover and American Express, are not currently impacted.

 

ALG Vacations is actively working with Visa and its credit card processor to identify the cause and resolve the issue. At this time, Visa is experiencing a higher level of declined transactions for certain United Vacations advisor card payments. Visa processing has not been shut off, which is why some United Vacations Visa transactions may still be approved while others may decline.

 

While work continues toward a resolution, travel advisors may use an alternate card type or contact the call center to have a declined Visa card passed to Accounting for manual review and processing. Once a card is passed for review, the reservation will not auto-cancel while payment is being reviewed. If a deposit has been paid and final payment is due, the booking will not auto-cancel overnight.

 

The Accounting team is currently processing transactions passed during business hours within approximately one hour. Transactions passed after business hours are being processed by 8:00 a.m. the following business day.

 

ALG Vacations understands the frustration this may cause and appreciates travel advisors’ patience as our teams work with Visa and our credit card processor to resolve the issue. Updates will continue to be shared as more information becomes available.
